Creative Contexts is a community promoted by IED aimed at aggregating creative and passionate people from more than 90 countries, that are involved in fashion, design, visual arts and communication, with the demands of most brilliant and innovative brands.
Our goal is to speed up interactions between designers and brands in order to embrace new talents, identify new ideas, develop projects and follow them through to the finished products and their market promotion. Thus, we participate in creative contests sponsored by certain brands according to their interests.
Creative Contexts publishes all contests offered by IED and their brand partners all around the world, which allows the participants of the community the opportunity to compete on creativity.
Register and sign up for a contest and submit your project: you can win a job, a scholarship, earn money, and express your creativity, bring your ideas and talent straight to market!
I’ve got an idea…
You have the opportunity to really challenge yourself to creativity, make new ideas and projects for brands that want to turn them into products.
It is not easy for a young designer to have direct access to production and prototyping.
Now your talent has a space to be expressed. All the IED contests are grouped in Creative Contexts in which you can participate offering your work and your ideas.
As a winner of the contest you will get access to a process that will help you with realization of your creative concept or product, as well as the advertising and online sales, which may again help you win a prize.
You can participate in creative contests sponsored by the smartest brands in order to:
• Win a job. The brands promoting the contests are offering jobs in design and creative job areas;
• Win a Scholarship. The brands promoting the contests are offering scholarships for IED courses;
• Win money. The brands promoting the contests are offering prizes in cash;
• Win award. The brands that promoting the contests are offering awards for specific design fields;
• Win the possibility of developing an idea and creating a product. The brands promoting the contests are offering a chance to win the support for the realization of the entire project development cycle, from the concept to the product.
Contest for ideas
Within creativecontexts.com, IED gathers the creative community taking part in contests in the production of ideas i.e. concepts, that may be shared and voted on, and which may eventually become products manufactured and marketed by the brand sponsors in the e-commerce area.
Submission
In order to participate in creative contests, present your ideas and vote for other projects, you must first subscribe to the site.
Idea uploading
You can submit your idea by filling the submission form right after you have filled in and uploaded your personal data for registration. You can describe your idea using materials of your choice (text attachments, videos from video sharing sites, pictures and drawings) that best describe your project.
Rating, interaction and likes
Members can interact each other developing individual projects. They can vote for or “like” the project. The level of interaction generated by a certain project becomes one of the criteria of one’s project value. If your idea gets approval and public support, it has more chance to win the contest, although each contest has its own specific regulations (example).
The sponsor brands and the IED team of experts will choose which ideas will win the contest. According to the regulations of each individual contest, designers could win: a job, a scholarship, money, awards or the ability to access the next stage of developing their idea – from concept to design – in the IED Creative Factory (Italy, Spain or Brazil) and then get revenue shares on sales.
Creative Factory – Ideas Selection
The selected ideas will be considered by the sponsor company with the IED Creative Factory support – composed of a group of expert tutors for project development that involves creative talents for specific product areas - in order to choose the best ideas that will pass to the project finalization activities.
From projects to prototypes
The winner designers will participate in two sessions (each session packed in 3 to 5 days) in one of the IED Creative Factory venues (Milan, Madrid and Sao Paulo). In order to let the ideas evolve from concept to project and from project to product prototype, the designers will be given support by the IED team through brand company managers and IED design and product experts.
The winning prototype and production
These two last parts of the designers’ activities will be video-broadcasted on the IED web television www.ied.tv and on the creativecontext.com website. These phases of the project will be, again, submitted to the “Community consensus” which would select the project, put it in production and distribute it through coordinated e-commerce activities.
The designers will participate in the profits generated by the commerce to the extent and in the manner prescribed by the regulations of each contest.
